The Purple Lemon is a non-profit faith-based mission thrift store and a Second Harvest food pantry. Our food pantry is open to the community every Thursday to provide groceries to those in need. We engage with different agencies to participate in disaster relief efforts by providing groceries, hot meals, water, and clothing to affected areas. We partner with many programs in our community including the Louisiana Workforce Commission to provide job opportunities for students and people with special needs; with Senior Community Service Employment Programs to provide job opportunities for seniors. We support Redemption Mission House, The Refinery Mission, Louisiana Adult and Teen Challenge as well as Fairview Treatment Center by providing financial support, job skills training, food, clothing, and other necessities. In addition, we provide employment opportunities and transitional housing for graduates of drug treatment programs as they acclimate back into society.

To provide support to people recovering from addiction and other life altering issues by meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs and providing the resources they need in transition to a restored life.
In 2024, Redemption Mission House along with The Purple Lemon launched "Men’s Night" a weekly support group dedicated to men overcoming addiction and life-controlling challenges. Recognizing a critical gap in community
resources, the program experienced rapid growth, expanding from an initial attendance of 8 participants to over 30 consistent members. During these sessions, participants identified systemic barriers to sustainable recovery, specifically the acute lack of stable housing, employment opportunities, and ongoing peer support. While The Redemption Mission stepped in to provide transitional housing for several individuals, severe financial constraints
left many men unhoused and vulnerable to relapse. Through a strategic partnership, our organizations combined resources to deliver comprehensive, wrap-around services. Together, we have successfully provided essential clothing, nutritional support, job placement, promote sobriety, and secure housing.
